WHY MALTA?
A home from home in the Med is often the comment we hear from overseas property buyers and Malta is unique in being able to offer, an English speaking population, driving on the left AND the weather!
With
countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia opening up
their property markets to overseas buyers there was a worry
that the Maltese property market could see a decline in sales
this year.
But it didn't happened. Part of Malta's appeal property wise is that it that never really attracted the bargain hunters who tended to look more at rural France, Spain and now, of course, Bulgaria and Turkey or at least where ever the low cost airlines fly to this week.
Plus Malta joined the EU last year (2005), and this has helped maintain Malta's popularity among overseas property buyers.
Malta also has an established has economic, legal and political systems and should be be viewed as less of a risk than countries where title deeds might be more questionable and where the recent history has been a bit lively
AL SO...

TOURISM
If
you are thinking of a buy-to-let property purchase then here
are a few points of interest:
- Plenty of safe, sandy beaches for the bucket-and-spade brigade, and with water temperatures staying at 20C even in late November - and 23C-plus in summer - kids can run in and out of the sea all day without turning blue.
- The largest sandy beaches tend to be in the north, in family resorts such as St Paul's Bay, Bugibba and Qawra.
- The beaches at Mellieha, Ghajn Tuffieha and Golden Bay are also a good bet for young families.
- The beaches on Gozo, half an hour's ferry ride from the main island, tend to be rockier - small, pristine coves where the sea is as clear as spring water.
