Property for Sale in Spain: Costa Tropical
The Costa Tropical, which runs from the popular resort town of Nerja in the west through La Herradura and the charming towns of Almuņecar and Salobreņa. This stretch of coastline takes its name from the sub-tropical climate, which allows the cultivation of exotic fruits and crops such as avocadoes, mangoes, bananas and sugar cane.
The coastline is stunningly beautiful and the area doesn't have the high-rise developments and frantic activity of Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola to the west.
Almuņecar is the tourist capital of the Costa Tropical and is one of the most Spanish resorts along the entire south coast. The Costa Tropical is popular with Spanish tourists heading for the beach because it provides excellent leisure facilities but has not been tainted by the trappings of mass tourism.
Property prices on the Costa Tropical tend to be cheaper than on the Costa del Sol, and the area has proved popular with foreign property buyers. As with much of Andalucia, the infrastructure is constantly being developed and improved and there are also improved facilities including international schools.
